UFL's Sacramento Mountain Lions Take Six Players In Hartford Reallocation Draft

The United Football League decided to shrink it's amount of teams in the 2011 season, meaning the Hartford Colonials were effectively shut down for the upcoming year. That left a team full of players with nowhere to go, which is why the league decided to hold a reallocation draft with them, with the Sacramento Mountain Lions taking six players from what used to be the Colonials. Sacramento definitely got some talent out of the deal, a few of which have some NFL experience. Here's a breakdown of who the Lions got from Hartford via their team website:

OG Kurt Quarterman

Height: 6-5

Weight: 348

Date of Birth: October 5, 1983

College: Louisville

PRO CAREER: Productive offensive lineman on the collegiate level who also boasts NFL experience. He entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Atlanta Falcons in 2007 . . . Boasts off-season or practice-squad experience with the Falcons (2007-08), New York Giants (2008), Cleveland Browns (2008-09) and Detroit Lions (2009-10). In college at Louisville (2006) he started all 13 games and earned third-team All-American honors from the Associated Press.

S John Busing

Height: 6-2

Weight: 231

Date of Birth: September 1, 1983

College: Miami (Ohio)

PRO CAREER: Busing played four seasons in the NFL. He played for the Cincinnati Bengals (2006-08) and Houston Texans (2009), and saw action in 43 games . . . His best season came with the Texans, recording 32 total tackles and an interception in 16 games. He led all Division I linebackers with five interceptions as a sophomore at Miami (Ohio).

DT Jonas Seawright

Height: 6-6

Weight: 330

Date of Birth: April 12, 1982

College: North Carolina

PRO CAREER: Massive defensive lineman returns for a third UFL season . . . A season-long starter in Hartford in 2010, Seawright recorded 20 total tackles and two sacks in the middle of the Colonials' defensive line. He played for the New York Sentinels during the 2009 campaign and recorded four tackles and two pass defenses... He was on the 53-man roster for the New York Giants during the 2006 NFL season, playing in nine games and recording one tackle. He originally joined the Giants as an undrafted free agent in 2005. He signed with the Dallas Cowboys in May of 2009, but was waived ahead of the regular season.

TE Jeff Cottam

Height: 6-6

Weight: 262

Date of Birth: December 26, 1986

College: Tennessee

PRO CAREER: Spent 2010 preseason with the Cincinnati Bengals as an undrafted free agent. He is the brother of Kansas City Chiefs tight end Brad Cottam.

DT Greg Peterson

Height: 6-5

Weight: 290

Date of Birth: January 21, 1984

College: North Carolina Central

PRO CAREER: Former fifth-round draft pick in the NFL by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2007. He played in 10 regular-season games as a rookie, recording 1 1/2 sacks and 14 total tackles. He also played with the Bucs in 2008 and played in two games with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2009.

Cornerback Manny Collins

Height: 5-10

Weight: 190

Date of Birth: August 2, 1984

College: Rutgers

PRO CAREER: The cornerback spent the entire 2010 season in Hartford, knocking down a team-high six passes and recording 31 tackles (third on the team). He spent much of the 2007 season on the New York Jets practice squad. He was also signed and released by the Jets in 2008.
