NCAA Baseball Regionals 2011 Schedule: Stanford, Cal State Fullerton Meet In Regional Winner's Bracket

The Stanford Cardinal will square off against the top seed in their region as they meet the Cal State Fullerton Titans on Saturday. The 2011 NCAA baseball tournament saw several big upsets on the first day of regional play but the Fullerton region was not such a region.

Stanford opened play with a 10-3 rout of Kansas State, sending the Wildcats into the loser’s bracket. The CS-Fullerton Titans handled their business with a 10-4 victory over Illinois. The Illini made things interesting as they were tied 4-4 in the sixth. However, Fullerton pulled away late and rolled to victory.

Fullerton will face Stanford Saturday evening at 8:00pm pacific on ESPNU. This game will follow Illinois versus Kansas State in the loser’s bracket at 4:00pm pacific. The loser of Illinois and Kansas State will be eliminated from the tournament. The winner will advance to face the loser of Stanford and Fullerton. The winner of that subsequent game will advance to face the winner of Stanford and Fullerton for the right to advance to the super regional round.
