The San Francisco Giants are still not yet in panic mode, but if they don't right the ship soon, fans will commence preparations for ... well, pressing the panic button. As it stands, everybody is still reeling from losing Buster Posey for the reason after leg and ankle injuries suffered in game two against the Florida Marlins. The Giants were swept in that series 3-0, and then went on to only take one from the Milwaukee Brewers in three games on the road. They'll close out this road trip with four games against the St. Louis Cardinals.
Against the Brewers, the Giants really only had one highlight: rookie Brandon Crawford hitting a grand slam in game one to give the Giants a 5-4 win. They did go on, however, to lose games two and three, getting blanked 6-0 in the final outing.
St. Louis though, they've won five straight series since being swept by the Cincinnati Reds at the beginning of the month. They most recently beat both the San Diego Padres and the Colorado Rockies two games to one in three-game sets, and are looking to continue this domination against the NL West when they host the Giants. San Francisco, meanwhile moved into second place within said division, and are looking to regain that position sooner rather than later. Getting Pablo Sandoval back would help, but his status is still more than a little uncertain.
