The quarterfinals of the 2011 West Coast Conference tournament are complete and the favorites have advanced on to the semifinals. The San Francisco Dons had little trouble in defeating the Pepperdine Waves 76-59. USF was led by Rashad Green’s 23 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 assists. The Santa Clara Broncos closed strong in the second half to defeat the Loyola Marymount Lions 76-68. The Broncos received huge efforts from Marc Trasolini, Evan Roguemore, and Kevin Foster who combined to score 61 of Santa Clara’s 76 points.
Santa Clara advances to face the top-seeded St. Mary’s Gaels at 5:00pm pacific. The Gaels swept the two-game set with victories of 84-59 and 65-59. The Broncos will be looking to snap a four game losing streak to Saint Mary’s. San Francisco advances to face the Gonzaga Bulldogs at 7:30pm pacific. The Dons and Bulldogs split their season series, each winning at home.
The two matchups will appear back-to-back on ESPN2. Monday’s championship game will air on ESPN at 6:00pm pacific.
