As the San Jose Earthquakes continue to await their playoff matchup, they have fallen behind the Kansas City Wizards 1-0. Forward Birahim Diop knocked home the first goal of the game in the 36th minute, with an assist from Jonathan Leathers. The Wizards have been in control of the game thus far with four shots to San Jose’s one shot.

Elsewhere, Houston defeated Seattle, which leaves the Sounders only 2 points ahead of San Jose in the race for playoff positioning.
